This area will permit you to retrieve all the Baltimore Female Rankings back to when the rankings were first recorded. In some cases the rankings were lost and we were unable to recover them. If you should know anyone who might have a copy of the missing rankings we would be interested in acquiring a copy to be included in this historical database. You will also note in our attempts to recover the information some of the early years are missing information but we were still able to provide the list in ranking order. We hope you enjoy this information. Your comments are always welcomed.

NOTE: There is currently a gap in the data during the 1940s, 1950s, 1970s and 1980s that will be filled in as soon as I have time to get to it and include it in the database. The year 1930 was the first year ladies were ranked.

A bit of information about the rankings. In the past the rankings were done several different ways until we settled on the current requirements to be ranked. For instance, in past years the top ten had to have 250 games to rank in first 10 positions. But to be ranked between 11 and 20 you only had to have 185 games. So as you are looking at the data you may see averages in the second ten that are higher then someone who ranked in the top ten but because they didn't have the required number of games they were ranked lower.

I would also like to acknowledge Ms. Anita Rothman. She was instrumental in recovering most of the information here for you to enjoy. She spent many hours looking through library archives to pull the information printed in newspaper articles over the years. Thank You Anita.
