The option to submit your final averages via this website will not be available until 31 May
of each year. The League Database will be updated between 15 May and 31 May. The information
is retrieved from the NDBC and the BDBA wants to insure the most current information is stored
here to make the submission of averages more accurate. PLEASE DON'T ATTEMPT TO SUBMIT YOUR
FINAL AVERAGES UNTIL 1 JUNE OR AFTER. IT IS ALSO REQUESTED THE AVERAGES BE SUBMITTED PRIOR TO
30 JUNE SO THE AVERAGE BOOK CAN BE PRINTED FOR DISTRIBUTION.
On this page you will have several options. You have two options for entering the information
for your league. If you would like the database to provide all the information it knows about
your league you will select the "Enter Final Averages" option. The system will return to you
a series of text boxes with some filled with information it knows about your league. Those boxes
which have nothing in them will be what you have to provide. Once you fill in the appropriate
text boxes you will hit the Submit button and your data will be stored in the database. If you
chose the "Enter Final Averages" option you can only run this option once. If you run it a
second time it will remove any information you have already provided the system and it will
have to be entered a second time.
The second choice you can make is "Enter Complete League" to submit your final averages. This
option requires you to enter all the information that is required for the database. The option
can also be used to enter members who bowled in your league but did not show up on your list
if you selected the "Enter Final Averages" option. These missing members could be alternates.
This option will ask you how many members you will be adding and then provide you with that
many text boxes which you will have to be filled in with the appropriate information.
During the entering of the data the software will accomplish one check to help insure the
database is receiving the correct information. Typing errors do occur as well as errors the
statistician may have made in keeping their records. Over the years a few statisticians would
round their averages up to the next highest average. This in fact is not the proper way to
maintain averages. In fact what is reported in the BDBA average book are averages with the
fractions dropped. The option available for you to correct these errors when a mathematical
error is detected and the software placed an '*' in the column labeled "Ast" is "Fix Errors."
Making this selection will provide you with a form similar to both of the previous options.
Your league will be presented to you in text boxes with all the data. You will need to find
and fix those records that are in error. When you select the submit button your league will
be updated in the database.
The fourth option you may select is "Display League." Selecting this option will provide you with
a complete list of all members of your league to include any alternates you may have added.
Finally, their is an option we would like you to use after you have entered your league into
the database. This option is the "Notify" option. When you complete the process of entering
and verifying the information and corrected any error you notify the BDBA your league is
ready to be included in the master database of averages. This will also tell us which leagues
have submitted their information according to the rules of the National Duckpin Bowling Congress.
When you enter your league into this database we will provide a copy of your league to NDBC,
which will save you the postage.
