This form may be used to send your final averages directly to the BDBA in a format that can be entered directly into the database being created to produce the new average book for the season just ending. If you wish to use this method it is requested you create a text file in the format that was provided to you when you received the NDBC form that is normally used to submit final averages. This alternate format shows the sample data and where the tabs should be set in your word processor to place the data in the proper columns for entry into the database. Once the file has been created enter the name in the box below and press the upload button. This will send the file to a temporary location on the BDBA internet host and will then be downloaded by the BDBA for entry into the database. You may also submit your final averages on the form provided by the NDBC by filling out the form that was provided to you. As a reminder the NDBC does require the membership numbers to be on the form for all members of your league. That includes alternates/substitutes. Below is the information concerning the format desired: We are asking that you create a text file in the following format:
League Name: Thursday Night Mixed
League Code: BRL-11
Statistician: Jane Doe
Telephone: 410-555-2121
999999 ROBERTS JOHN JR BEB-99 105 10528 100 M
999998 ROBERTS MARY BEB-99 108 11183 103 F
999997 ROBERTS PATRICIA BEB-99 90 10905 121 F
PLEASE TYPE ALL NAMES IN UPPERCASE CHARACTERS!!!!
Tab settings:
Column 1 = Membership numberColumn 8 = Last nameColumn 25 = First name (to include Jr, Sr, III, etc)
Column 37 = League Code
Column 44 = Total games
Column 48 = Pinfall
Column 54 = Average
Column 58 = Gender
You my use the word processor of your choice and set your tabs to the above
format. You must save the data to a Rich
Text File before uploading the file to the BDBA. Please make the name of
the file you save and send your NDBC league code (i.e. BRL-99). By using this
format the BDBA will be permitted to enter your league directly into the
database there by speeding up the process of handling your league. If everyone
would use the above format and submit their league by uploading it to the BDBA
via the webpage the average book could possibly be available by mid July
instead of mid August. You may still use the form that came to you with this
letter if you choose. Using that form requires the data to be retyped into the
database manually, which has the potential of errors being generated and
possibly overlooked in the editing process. Any questions may be directed to me
at 410-360-7132 or via e-mail at bdba@qis.net.
Thank You in advance
